# Flipper the Ripper

> Free, open-source (MIT) Android app that saves publicly accessible videos from YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X and Dailymotion to the phone's gallery. Share a link to the app and the download starts. No account, no ads, no tracking. Not on Google Play by design; distributed as one signed APK per release. Requires Android 7.0 or later on 64-bit ARM.

Everything below is also available without JavaScript: the page's HTML carries the current version and checksum, and `/` returns Markdown for `Accept: text/markdown`.

## Install

1. Open [the download link](https://flipper-the-ripper.celox.io/download) on the phone.
2. Open the downloaded file; allow the browser to install apps when Android asks (once).
3. In any supported app tap Share and pick Flipper the Ripper. Updates install over the existing app; the app announces new releases itself.

## Verify

- APK checksum: `assets[0].sha256` in [latest.json](https://flipper-the-ripper.celox.io/latest.json), also `SHA256SUMS.txt` in each release.
- Signing certificate SHA-256, identical for every release since 1.0.0: `1fc3904fd80eb8135b25ee15fe62ec3b74545eba360298c152f712646fd910cb` — check with `apksigner verify --print-certs`.

## Scope and limits

- Only for publicly accessible content and personal, lawful use. Does not bypass DRM, paywalls or access restrictions.
- No playlists, no subtitles.
